Listening for the rustle.....

"Could it be possible that as soon as a child is born needing a family, God, in His fatherly love, stirs up the heart and nest of a family to receive His little one?  Oh, that we may be open and listening for the rustle!"  Marie Keller

How easy is it to ignore the rustle?  The sound of God's still small voice telling us to ACT for a child in need?  If a child were placed on our doorstep in need of serious medical treatment, or clothing, or food, what would we do?  Would we lock the door and go curl up to watch tv?  Would we grap our latest good read and snuggle up in front of the fireplace?  Or maybe sit down with our family and eat dinner followed by a freshly baked cake?  All while this child sits in the cold, alone and hungry, in need of a doctor, on our front porch?  OF COURSE NOT!  But what are we doing when we hear God's rustle in our hearts and yet find excuses not to act?  Is it any different just because that child is in a orphanage halfway around the world?  Is it any different because it's inconvenient or expensive or challenging or not what we planned?

Dear God, I promise to open my heart and always listen for the rustle that means a child in need has been chosen for our family.  Amen.

Our family was chosen by Give1Save1 to be Family of the Week.  For this week only all donations will go toward the expenses to bring our children home.  Every dollar counts and is one step closer.  If you can give, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.  If not, please consider forwarding the link so that others may hear our story.  Make sure you watch the video.  It was so fun to make!  And as always, pray for us on this amazing God-led journey!
